Everyone seems to be talking about attraction marketing as if it were something new. Top network marketers have used this secret for years. I remember back in the late 80’s hearing that if you were on fire with enthusiasm, people would come from miles around to watch you burn. Now that’s attraction marketing.

The key thing to understand is that attraction marketing isn’t some internet marketing program, it’s a method of operation. Whether you are building a business the old fashion way – face-to-face or using all the latest technology on the internet, you can utilize attraction marketing. I’ve been using it for the last 20 years in network marketing and it’s the reason that today I have total time and financial freedom. Two years ago when I was about to start in network marketing, he was the first person who guided how to get started right. He gave his precious time and wisdom even if at that time his company was (and still is) not operating in my home country The Philippines. He simply helped without expecting anything in return because it his nature to serve people.

May I share with you the first two paragraphs from his article “What is a Servant Leader” :

Servant leadership has become a hot business topic. The funny part is that it sounds like an oxymoron. You know, like “original copy” or “alone in a crowd” or “exact estimate” and yet, it’s not. In this article we’ll examine this seemingly contractive form of leadership and describe the attributes of a servant leader.

Having been involved in the network marketing industry for 28 years, I’ve seen all types of leadership, but those who have enjoyed the greatest success over an extended period of time have all been servant leaders. So, what the heck is a servant leader, you ask? That’s a good question and I intend to answer it, but before we do that, let’s examine some descriptions of a leader.

Some History

For centuries explorers have hacked their way through the jungles in search of riches, unaware they were surrounded by untold wealth if they only had eyes to see. There is so much information, so much revelation waiting to be harvested by studying the created order and in particular the highly abundant, lush rainforests found in tropical regions around the world. In recent years scientists have begun exploring the rainforest in search of cures for all manner of diseases and with much success too. They have begun to recognize some of the wealth hidden in the primitive rainforests the world over.

But there’s more. Much more. As we move beyond the industrial economy to a more knowledge-based economy, business is beginning to recognize that the real profit to be earned from nature comes from the principles by which it flourishes, more than the exploitation of its resources. So when I received an email from him few weeks ago, I was excited to open it.

Rod Nichols wrote:

“As a fellow network marketer, you probably recognize that there are several inherent problems in network marketing:

1. Takes too long for the average person to make money.
2. New associates quickly run out of warm market prospects.
3. New associates are afraid to approach people.
4. Most people don’t know how to build on the internet.
5. Many people never receive effective training.

Due primarily to these factors only about 2% of those involved in network marketing make a legitimate full-time income.

My question to you is: What would happen to your business and the businesses of those in your downline, if we could eliminate these five factors? The correct answer is that your business would explode and your income would skyrocket, as would that of many of those in your network.

I know that this sounds good, but you’re probably wondering, “Rod, how are we going to eliminate the five factors?” That’s an excellent question and in the balance of this e-mail, I’m going to show you exactly how.”

Nervous breakdown in 1836.

Defeated for speaker in 1838.

Defeated for Congress in 1843.

Elected to Congress in 1846.

Defeated for Congress in 1848.

Defeated for Senate in 1855.

Defeated for vice president in 1856.

Defeated for Senate in 1858.

Finally elected as the 16^th President of the United States of America in 1860. And one of the greatest Presidents. His name… Abraham Lincoln.

While browsing through his writings, I discovered the wealth of business wisdom that the Proverbs of Solomon readily offers to those who seek it.

Perry Marshall wrote: “Most business people talk about Think and Grow Rich or 7 Habits of Highly Effective People or How to Win Friends and Influence People (none of which make my top list) but this book beats all others, hands down. No contest. If I had to take one business book to a desert Island, it would be Proverbs. Written by the Jewish king Solomon in ~1000BC, it’s got more common sense and wisdom per paragraph than any other book anywhere, period. You can read one of its 31 chapters each day this month. I can’t tell you how many times the advice in Proverbs has saved me from serious peril.”

As mentioned in my first post, the making of this blog has been inspired by Todd Duncan’s book “High Trust Selling: Make More Money in Less Time with Less Stress”.

John C.
